Aerobics Basics: Breathing and Rhythm

Nov 2025

Aerobic exercise provides cardiovascular conditioning. The term aerobic means with oxygen. Breathing controls the amount of oxygen that reaches the muscles to help them burn fuel and move.

Start with low-impact patterns: gentle marching, step-touch, and arm circles. Match movement to steady inhale through the nose and slightly longer exhale to support efficient oxygen use.

Progress gradually to moderate intervals and high-knee marching as capacity improves. Maintain upright posture, keep joints aligned, and stop if pain or dizziness occurs.
